Dr Muiris Ó Ceidigh holds a Doctorate in Governance from Queens University Belfast, where he conducted research into media, power and emerging recognition of civil and human rights. He is a Trustee of the Institute for Conflict Research in Belfast, Northern Ireland. His primary degree was a BA in law and sociology from NUIG and this was followed by an LLB. He also holds an MBA from Trinity College and has also achieved an MSc (Economics) from Trinity. In addition, he has graduated with an MA in Public Management from the Institute of Public Administration. He practiced as a commercial lawyer with A & L Goodbody for several years and is currently CEO of the National Milk Agency. He was appointed as member of Property Services Regulatory Authority in 2016 and he is a Director of the Irish Architecture Foundation. He was nominated by the Minister for Defence to the General Assembly of the Irish Red Cross and elected a Director and in addition serves as Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee of the Irish Red Cross. Recently he was nominated as a Director of the Discovery Program by the Heritage Council. Muiris is a published poet and was recipient of the Francis Ledwidge International Poetry Prize. He has served as a director and as national secretary of An Taisce – The National Trust for Ireland. He has, on a number of occasions lectured at the University of Paris 1 – Sorbonne on the common law system and it history and at the Institute of Public Administration on commercial law and corporate law. He successfully completed the Oxford University Fintech program in 2018 and more recently an Executive Leadership program at the University of Cambridge. He was a public interest member of the of the Medical Scientists Registration Board before becoming a chair on the Education Review Panel of CORU. He served for many years as a non-executive director of the Economic Research Institute of Northern Ireland having been appointed by UK government. Currently he is studying the history economic thought and globalisation, at Oxford University. He has several legal and other publications.
