The Ministerial Conference on the future of the European Court of Human Rights started yesterday, 18 February 2010, in Interlaken, Switzerland.

The ICCL has joined 156 NGO from across the Council of Europe in signing a Joint Appeal on the Reform of the European Court of Human Rights.

The Appeal calls for the strengthening of ECHR implementation at the national level, reforms and improvements to the European Court of Human Rights, and the strengthening of the Committee of Ministers' role in in supervising states’ implementation of the Court’s judgments.
